A rock’n’roll farmers and rock’n’roll chef take a journey of discovery around Margaret River, one of Australia’s premium gourmet regions.

Alex James made his name as a member of the most famous rock bands Blur and is now an author, a father, and a farmer who makes award-winning artisan cheeses. He’s on a crusade to find great music, unique characters and the best cheeses.

Matt Stones is a rock’n’roll chef, complete with tatts, an anti-establishment attitude and passion for sustainability, green issues, food and art. He started his career at Margaret River’s Leeuwin Estate.

Together, Alex and Matt discover unique produce, people and events, music related craftspeople and musicians, great surf and surfers. All to coincide with the gourmet world descending on the region. Here chefs from around the globe, like Rene Redzepi from Denmark, Alex Atala from Brazil and Tetsuya from Sydney, rub shoulders and exchange great food ideas at the Gourmet Margaret River Escape.
